The Oregon Department of Transportation's State Radio Project will host Federal Communications Commission (FCC) training on historic preservation and compliance for communication sites. This training will provide an overview of FCC requirements that apply to the design, permitting and construction of communications facilities.

This six-hour session will focus on project compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Attendees will learn about the application of FCC nationwide programmatic agreements during design and construction of tower sites and collocations. Tribal notification of proposed projects through the FCC's Tower Construction Notification System will also be covered.

This is a rare opportunity to receive training from the FCC's Federal Preservation Officer. The training is free and open to agencies or companies that work with, or have an interest in the FCC environmental compliance process.

An agenda and additional details will be sent in advance of the training date.

This training will be of value to: communication tower licensees, applicants and permittees; consultant teams; environmental and cultural resource specialists; regulatory agencies; telecommunications industry; tribal communities; public safety agencies at the state and local levels.
