Oregon SHPO has developed its first Archaeology Bulletin and associated Frequently Asked Questions sheet. Archaeology Bulletin 1 "Archaeological Sites on Private Lands" is intended to inform private landowners of their rights and responsibilities if archaeological sites are known to exist on their lands. The associated FAQ sheet overlaps with the bulletin and addresses common questions related to state laws and landowner rights and responsibilities. The bulletin and FAQ sheet are available on the SHPO Archaeology Services web page: http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/HCD/ARCH/index.shtml under the heading Archaeology Bulletins. Archaeology Bulletin 2 will be available later in the year and will focus on the topic of archaeological permits. If anyone has any recommendations for future Archaeology Bulletin topics, please do not hesitate to email me any suggestions.

Thanks.
-John
