[OR_Archaeology] Archaeology Exhibit in Beaverton

Announcing an Archaeology Exhibition and Reception: 
                                                                  
An Open House Reception for the "OREGON ARCHAEOLOGY CELEBRATIONS: INVITATIONS TO THE PAST" exhibit is planned for March 8th, 1:30 to 3:PM at the Elsie Stuhr Center, 5550 SW Hall, Beaverton. The exhibit will be at the center through May 31st.  It has been shown continuously for the past four years at various Oregon museums, universities, libraries, and an Indian casino. 
 
This traveling exhibit showcases posters about Oregon archaeology.  A poster was created each year from 1994 through 2012 to announce Oregon Archaeology Month and raise awareness of Oregon's archaeology. Each poster features a different theme, calling attention to Oregon's rich cultural heritage, be it the Oregon Trail, Fort Rock Cave, Rock Art, Portland's Chinatown, Champoeg, coastal shell middens, and more. Oregon Archaeology Celebration is always during the month of October and features activities all over the state.
   
The Oregon Archaeology Celebration Committee that makes the posters and runs Oregon Archaeology Celebration consists of archaeologists from federal and state agencies, private companies, and the Oregon Archaeological Society (www.oregonarchaeological.org).
