Job Description for a Sabbatical Replacement line in Anthropology, April 2014. Pacific Lutheran University



Visiting Assistant Professor/ Instructor



The Department of Anthropology at Pacific Lutheran University seeks candidates for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor in Archeology beginning in September 2014.  The candidate should be able to teach undergraduate courses in archaeology.  Although alternative options could be considered, the six-course annual load will include one introductory class and upper division class in the fall semester, one upper division class in the January term, and one introductory class, one upper division class, and one class for first-year students in the spring semester.



Commitment to effective teaching at the undergraduate level is required.  Ph.D. must be in hand by September 1, 2014 for appointment at the Visiting Assistant professor level.  ABD is required by September 1, 2014 for appointment at the Instructor level.
