Principal Investigator / Archaeologist

Job Description
Warm Springs Geo Visions (WSGV) Cultural Resource Group is seeking a Principal Investigator / Archaeologist to manage projects for client contracts and implement quality assurance and control that ensures fieldwork, analysis, and report production is completed in accordance with Oregon State Historic Preservation Office standards. The Principal Investigator is responsible for budget reporting, research designs, treatment plans, inventory reports and other technical documents and ensures that the project is concluded on time and within budget. Ability to management multiple projects (both large and small) successfully.

Responsibilities:
* Maintain safety first
* Represent Warm Springs Geo Visions in a professional manner during interactions with clients,
                agencies, landowners, and staff
* Leadership (problem solving, decision making, team building, and conflict resolution)
* Data Quality Assurance /Quality Control, time-management and organizational skills
* Professional report and site form preparation, research and literature reviews
* Fieldwork (survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery)
* Supervision of field staff
* Assist in the development of staff
* Maintain good work ethics and accurate up-to-date records
* Complete assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner.
* Develop and maintain good public (tribal and non-tribal) and client relationships.
* Carry out duties with little or no supervision.
* Be a team player

Qualifications:
* A minimum of a Master's Degree in Anthropology or a closely related field and meet Secretary
                of Interior Standards
* Past archaeological field experience in the Pacific Northwest, with an emphasis in North
                American archaeology or history and have a current technical specialization (e.g., lithic
                specialists, history, ethnography, geo archaeology)
* A minimum of 5-years field supervisory, with a least 2-years consecutive experience at a PI
                level with the successful completion of final reports consistent with the Secretary of Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation
* Ability to be listed on federal and state permits in Oregon and Washington
* A successful record of completing technical reports in a timely fashion
* Experience with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act

Knowledge & Skills:
* Strong background in cultural resource management practices including project planning, archaeological field survey, site documentation and evaluation techniques
* Understanding of cultural resource tribal, federal, state and local laws and regulations
* Excellent communication and logistical skills
* Excellent technical writing skills
* Adept at working with a variety of colleagues and clients
* Commitment to fiscal and scheduling responsibilities for projects of all sizes and scopes
* Knowledge of and respect for Tribal traditions, values and techniques

Archaeologist Field Director / Project Archaeologist

Job Description
Warm Springs Geo Visions (WSGV) Cultural Resource Group is seeking an Archaeological Field Director / Project Archaeologist to lead field crews on large and small projects and support office efforts. Field Directors assist Principal Investigators in managing projects specifically managing fieldwork, supervising one or more crews during archaeological survey, archaeological site and construction monitoring, excavation and data analysis. Field Directors also assist in site record development and report writing as needed.

Responsibilities:
* Fieldwork (survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery) and supervising field crews
* Professional report and site form preparation, research and literature reviews
* Leadership (problem solving, decision making, team building, and conflict resolution)
* Ensure safe working environment for field crews
* Represent Warm Springs Geo Visions in a professional manner during interactions with clients,
                agencies, landowners, and staff
* Develop and maintain work relationships with staff, cliental and public
* Self-starter, good organizational and time management skills
* Maintain good work ethics
* Maintain accurate up-to-date records
* Complete assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner
* Carry out duties with little or no supervision
* Team player

Qualifications:
* A minimum of a Master's Degree in Anthropology or a closely related field and meet Secretary
                of Interior Standards
* Past archaeological field experience in the Pacific Northwest
* Previous field supervisory experience (minimum 3 years)
* Ability to be listed on federal and state permits in Oregon and Washington
* Ability to travel and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather,
                rugged terrain, and at high altitudes, and carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds

Knowledge & Skills:
* General understanding of cultural resource management practices including archaeological
                field survey, site documentation and evaluation techniques
* Technical skills including: Arch GIS, Trimble, Garmin, and digital cameras
* Excellent communication and logistical skills
* Ability to contribute to technical reports and compile site forms with minimal oversight
* Adept at working with a variety of colleagues and clients
* Commitment to fiscal and scheduling responsibilities for projects of all sizes and scopes
* General understanding of cultural resource tribal, federal, state and local laws and regulations
* Knowledge of and respect for Tribal traditions, values and techniques
