If you know Paul's books: "Earth Pigments and Paint of the California Indians" or "The Universal Tool Kit" or know him from working in California...

To all of our Backtracks (From Dave Wescott) friends, we just go this message with an
update from Christopher Nyerges on Paul Campbell's condition. Please
send along your thoughts and prayers to Paul and his family.

 Hello friends.

I just got off the phone with Arpy, Paul's wife. We talked for a while.
Bottom line: Paul's tumor is back, he will have more radiation this
week, even though he doesn't want it. Doctors told them he will live 4
to 6 weeks without the radiation, maybe 6 months with the radiation.

So, now is the time to recognize what Paul has done, and meant to each
of us all these years. Yes, you can call and try to say hello or
whatever, maybe you will get through, maybe not. I visit more or less
regular and Paul knows (that is, remembers) who I am. He was forgetting
who's who last time I was there, sad to say.
 Yes, maybe send a
card, to him, or the family. I think Paul had a great life and a
wonderful circle of friends, and we've all become better and learned
more because of him.
An email to Paul would likely never get read, so don't bother....

If you want to send them a note (with a photo would be ideal, now that I
think of it, so he can link the face with the name), don't delay.(By
the way, (I'm not telling or advising anyone to do anything -- just IF
you feel this desire to say something to Paul, or his wife, this may be
the last chance). the address is 2431 Orange Ave., La Crescenta, CA
91214.
