[OR_Archaeology] Position Announcement

POULEY John * OPRD John.Pouley at oregon.gov
Fri Aug 22 15:27:52 PDT 2014

Please share far and wide with all archaeologists.

Job requires a Master's degree in archaeology; it's fairly autonomous and the two rangers you would be working for are excellent (on-top-of-things, smart, and they don't micromanage). The last archaeologist went into GIS work and the Forest archaeologist just can't keep up with the workload.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, is efficient, focused, and can meet deadlines. The person can thrive in a small, remote town. The Forest hopes that the candidate will have the ability to stay for at least 4-5+years. Tribal relations are with the Warm Springs Tribe and some with the Umatilla (CTUIR); if the candidate is working on special projects in our North Zone that would be with the Nez Perce Tribe.

If interested, please fill out the Outreach and send back to Ann Niesen, Heppner District Ranger at amniesen at fs.fed.us<mailto:amniesen at fs.fed.us> by September 15, 2014.
