UAF and the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML, CSU) are conducting an excavation of the Delta River Overlook site (XMH-297) in the mid-Tanana basin this summer (dates are Aug 1 - Aug 31, 2015). Project leaders are Ben Potter, Julie Esdale, Josh Reuther, and Chuck Holmes.

We will hire approximately 15 archaeological technicians at a rate of $21.00/hour with the possibility of overtime.  The site is multi-component, deeply buried, and well-stratified, with excellent faunal preservation, including some of the youngest archaeological bison in the far North. Travel to and from Fairbanks will be provided by the project.  Experience in Alaskan archaeology, particularly with deeply buried sites, is a plus.

To be considered for the positions, interested parties should contact Ben Potter as soon as possible at: bapotter at alaska.edu<mailto:bapotter at alaska.edu>, 907-474-7567.
