May 2021
Greetings!
Celebrate the archaeology of Oregon and beyond at the 9th annual Archaeology Roadshow, which has shifted to a virtual experience this year. As in past years, the Roadshow will feature dozens of presentations and activities hosted by archaeologists and community members from around the state; from universities, tribes, federal and state agencies, archaeology companies, and nonprofit organizations.
We've created a new website - archaeologyroadshow.org<https://pdx.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1c7f343dcd710070fafb26bdb&id=3fdef3722c&e=a59d6a8d76> - which launches on June 1. Here you will find a range of virtual exhibits, such as short videos about recent projects, photo essays, and blogs/articles geared for the public. Also make sure to check out the dynamic map of archaeological and cultural heritage points of interest in Oregon and our region.
We are also hosting live presentations and panel discussions throughout the month of June on a range of topics; and two panels where visitors can log in to talk with archaeologists about their treasured object.
Please see the calendar below for dates and times. Visit our new website, archaeologyroadshow.org<https://pdx.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1c7f343dcd710070fafb26bdb&id=5fef802e00&e=a59d6a8d76>, or scroll down to see the full line up of talks we have scheduled and register now! Keeping our event free and open to the widest possible audience through development of this new hybrid digital platform, will require financial support. We hope you will consider joining us as a fiscal sponsor. While we won't incur the costs associated with the in-person traveling event this year, we will have new costs associated with development and long-term management of the website as well as the ongoing management of scheduling and moderating online events.
We welcome whatever assistance you can provide.
