Hi everyone,
In the past year, more than 1600 health professionals and institutions
signed onto an open letter calling for McDonald’s to end its predatory junk
food marketing to children.
The letter made headlines worldwide and has helped to shift the public
conversation about marketing to kids and the role of corporations in
driving the epidemic of diet-related disease among children.

This unprecedented pressure on McDonald’s has forced the industry to
respond -- from McDonald’s adding apple slices to its Happy Meals to
competitors like Jack in the Box and KFC-Australia removing toys from their
kids’ meals.
While these are steps in the right direction, the health of our children is
at stake and we need to demand more.
Corporate Accountability International is getting ready to bring the
concerns of the health community to McDonald’s shareholders’ meeting this
May. Our goal is for 1,000 more health professionals to sign the letter to
ramp up the pressure on the corporation. Will you be one of those 1,000?

One in three children in the U.S. are expected to develop Type 2 diabetes
in their lifetime, and this generation may be the first in U.S. history to
live shorter lives than their parents. Yet, McDonald’s and the fast food
industry spend millions aggressively marketing its junk food directly to
kids.
Together we can help reverse the epidemic of diet-related disease among
children and reshape our food system for a healthier future.
