"The Water Resources Department has announced a funding opportunity to conduct place-based integrated water resources planning.  This is a product of Oregon's 2012 Integrated Water Resources Strategy, specifically Recommended Action 9.A.  This new opportunity provides Oregon communities a framework for  addressing water issues and developing strategies that meet both instream and out-of-stream water needs, working in partnership with the state.

Letters of Interest must be received by 5:00pm on Monday, December 7, 2015
Overview: The Oregon Water Resources Department announces a funding opportunity to support place-based integrated water resources planning for a select number of pilot areas. The Department received $750,000 to distribute as grants. The Department anticipates awarding 2-4 grants on a competitive basis and will also be offering planning and technical assistance.
Application Information: Grant applications will be submitted in the form of a Letter of Interest. The formal Request for Letters of Interest, which describes the application process and materials in more detail, is attached to this message.
Prior to applying, it is strongly recommended that applicants contact Department staff to make sure this program is a good fit for their needs. Letters of Interest will undergo an internal review, followed by an inter-agency review. Funding decisions will be made by the Water Resources Commission at an upcoming Commission meeting (anticipated in February or March 2016).
