The map explains how these contaminants enter wells, and describes health risks associated with over exposure. Interact with the maps by clicking, zooming-in and downloading data in your county or by census tracts. (View the map) [cid:image008.jpg at 01D31CED.85D9B2A0] Finding an accredited lab made easy! DWSP created a video to make navigating the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Management System (TNI LAMS) easier. The video is available to view on our website under, "Quick Links". Quick Reminder: If you own a private domestic well, routine testing is up to you! It is recommended to test your well water once a year by an accredited laboratory to monitor any contaminants present. In Oregon, routine testing for nitrate, coliform bacteria and arsenic is recommended. If selling a property in Oregon, these test are required by law (ORS 448.271). Upcoming Events: September 5th, 2017: Protect Your Groundwater Day (PYGWD) is a time to stress safeguarding groundwater for human and ecosystem needs, and the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) has chosen the theme "Cap It, Plug It" for the September 5 event to emphasize the critical role of well caps and plugging of abandoned wells in protecting groundwater.
