Oregon Historical Society (OHS) is seeking grades K-12 teachers to be on the Experience Oregon Curriculum Advisory Committee to review the new curriculum that will be developed to support OHS’s new history exhibit, Experience Oregon (EO).

OHS is hiring a curriculum writer to develop curriculum in the form of Pre-Visit Materials and Post-Visit Materials for grades K-12 to extend the learning for students before and after they visit OHS’ exhibit, Experience Oregon (EO).  The EO curriculum will be guided and reviewed by an Experience Oregon Curriculum Advisory Committee, and OHS is especially seeking candidates who are knowledgeable about history from marginalized communities, such as women, people of color, indigenous communities and other groups traditionally silenced by historical organizations.

The EO Curriculum Advisory Committee will meet twice from 5-7 PM at OHS on these days:
•        Monday, October 22
•        Tuesday, December 18

In addition to participating in the two meetings, the EO Curriculum Advisory Committee members will review all EO curriculum drafts, which will consist of 5 sets of curriculum (for grades Kinder, 1-3, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) and provide revision requests, as appropriate.  The curriculum drafts will need to be reviewed during the week of December 11-18 in preparation for the second meeting on December 18.  After the meeting, revision requests will need to be made by December 21.

Compensation will consist of two dinners (at the two meetings) and a $300 total honorarium.

The committee will be comprised of teachers and other education specialists, and museum staff.
