Good Afternoon,
The OSFA Board is seeking input from the OSFA membership and would
appreciate your feedback to the following ideas:
1. OSFA is considering holding brown bag lunches for
mini-training sessions and networking opportunities. The sessions would
be about
two hours in length and would incorporate the noon hour.
The Board has considered the following topics:
a. Interview Skills
b. Accounting Structures
c. Travel
Would you be interested in participating in these sessions? (Y/N) ____
Please indicate your preferred topics in order of interest using the
numbers 1 through 5, with 5 indicating the most interest and 1
indicating the least interest:
1. Interview Skills ____
2. Accounting Structures ____
3. Travel ____
4. Other ______________________________
5. Other ______________________________
2. The Board is of the opinion that providing OSFA members with
opportunities for growth in their professional careers is of paramount
importance. With that in mind, the Board is considering developing a
mentoring program. The mentoring program would, for example, provide
employees in the Accounting Technician series the chance to have a
mentor in the Accountant series who could provide helpful advice on what
skills and abilities are needed to move into the higher classifications.
The same would hold true in other fiscal areas.
If you would be interested in participating in the program, please
indicate whether you would be participating as a "mentor", "student", or
perhaps both.
a. Mentor_________
b. Student________
Please send your responses to Scott.Smyth at state.or.us
Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions as it will help
the Board to plan for the future direction of OSFA.
