The Oregon Lottery is currently recruiting for an Accountant in our Finance and Accounting Department.

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Accountant is responsible for applying the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and analysis on Lottery general operations, game activities, accounts receivable, and accounts payable activities.  Perform accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and resulting managerial reports and financial statements.  Assist with financial planning and internal control by developing and implementing financial and accounting concepts.  Specific duties in these areas would be as assigned by the Senior Analysts, General Accounting Manager (GAM), or CFO.

JOB SCOPE:
This position works under the general supervision of the GAM.  Work is generally reviewed by the Senior Financial Analyst or GAM to ensure the proper application of accounting principles, theories, or concepts.  The work is guided by Lottery Policies and Procedures, desk manuals, the OAM (Oregon Accounting Manual), Oregon Revised Statutes, the Oregon Administrative Rules, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and statements issued by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), and desk manuals.
