Marine Board Meets in Charleston June 29
The Oregon State Marine Board will consider funding two boating access
projects worth $323,000 during their next regular board meeting
scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, in Charleston. The two projects are in
Columbia and Multnomah counties.
Among other items on the agenda, the board will make final
decisions on proposed boating regulations for Brownlee Reservoir in
Baker County and Lake Billy Chinook in Jefferson County. The board will
also consider rules consistent with Washington State law for charter
boats operating on the Columbia River. Other agenda items include
initial rulemaking requests for Elk Lake in Marion County, Illinois
River in Jackson County and North Fork Siuslaw River in Lane County.
Marine Board staff will also ask the board for consideration of the
2007-2009 Marine Board budget.
Boating Facility Projects -Two new projects will be brought to
the board at this meeting. They are:
* Port of St. Helens, Scappoose -Construction of a four-stall
flush restroom
* Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department, Sandy Beach,
Government Island -Consultant design and engineering for a new transient
tie-up facility and composting toilet
The meeting will be held at the South Slough Estuary Reserve in
Charleston. The meeting will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Agenda items
include the following:
* Director's Report
* Consideration of Agency Budget Request
* Consideration of Facility Grant Requests
* Final Consideration of Rulemaking -Hewitt Park, Baker County
* Final Consideration of Rulemaking -Reciprocity Provisions for
Charter Boats on the Columbia River
* Final Consideration of Rulemaking -Lake Billy Chinook, Jefferson
County
* Initial Consideration of Rulemaking Requests -Elk Lake, Marion
County; Illinois River, Jackson County; North Fork Suislaw River,
Lane County
* Education/Information Program Report
* Law Enforcement Program Report
* Election of Officers
