ODFW Receives Grant for Miller Island Boat Ramp
The Oregon State Marine Board approved a grant to replace the existing concrete launch ramp, boarding floats and piling at Miller Island on the Klamath River. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife requested the funds that were approved at the Marine Board meeting on April 7, in Wilsonville.
Miller Island provides one of the only access points to the Klamath River below the dam that forms Upper Klamath Lake. Boating use is primarily fishing, however upgrading the facilities will provide significant improvement for boaters accessing Klamath River.
The ODFW requested $150,000 in state funds to match with $150,000 in federal Sport Fish Restoration funds. The projected total cost is $300,000.
