Hyak Park's Parking Lot to Get Face Lift
Benton County has received a grant from the Oregon State Marine Board to improve the parking lot and circulation pattern at Hyak Park on the Willamette River. The Marine Board approved the grant at its quarterly meeting on April 7, in Wilsonville.
The Willamette River is the only significant waterbody in Benton County; the main launch ramps for boaters are in Corvallis and Albany. By improving the parking lot with asphalt, sealant, striping, signs and reconstructing curbs and drainage, boaters will have improved access to the river.
The projected cost for the parking lot improvement is $70,000. The County requested $52,500 in state funds and will provide the remainder of the funding through in-kind and cash contributions.
