Marine Board to Meet in Salem April 28 and 29, 2010

The Oregon State Marine Board will be holding their quarterly meeting at the Marine Board office, 435 Commercial Street NE, on Wednesday, April 28 at 1 p.m. in Salem and will meet again on Thursday, April 29 at 9 a.m. in the same location.  
	
The Board will be asked to: 
●	Initiate rulemaking for a seasonal 5 MPH slow-no-wake zone in the Miller Arm on Siltcoos Lake for safety reasons; 
●	Consider temporary, intermittent closures of the Sandy River at river mile 18.8 from May 10 through the end of August 2010 for construction and relocation of the Bull Run water supply pipelines
●	Initiate rulemaking to close a portion of the North Santiam River below Niagra Park during a two-year Corps of Engineers construction project, and;  
●	Consider approval of 21 boating facility grant applications for nearly $1 million in boating access improvements.
	
During the second day of the meeting, the Department of Administrative Services will facilitate the Board with the process of interviewing candidates for the position of the State Marine Director.
	
The meeting is accessible for persons with disabilities. Persons wishing to address the Board on non-agenda items may do so during the designated period at the start of the meeting.
