Klamath County Marine Patrol Recognized for Outstanding Service to Boating Safety

The Oregon State Marine Board recognized Klamath County marine deputies and volunteers for their outstanding job performance and contributions to boating safety during the 2010 boating season at the Marine Board's annual Law Enforcement Conference held in Bend, on October 19.
Deputy Daren Krag brought home two prestigious awards: the Boating Under the Influence Award for awareness and dedication in deterring intoxicated boat operators and the Deputy of the Year Award. Deputy Krag conducted 963 boat examinations, issued 48 citations and 392 warnings, conducted 28 hull inspections and apprehended 11 intoxicated boaters. "Deputy Krag has won Officer of the year two years in a row," said Marty Law, Boating Safety Program Manager for the Marine Board.
