Marine Board Considers Revising Maintenance Assistance Program Rules

               The Oregon State Marine Board is considering revising the administrative rules for its Maintenance Assistance Program (MAP), which provides annual grant assistance to state and local agencies, ports and park districts to help maintain public boating facilities statewide.
               Participation in the Marine Board's MAP program is voluntary, however; changes in the administrative rules could affect how much funding participating agencies receive each year.
               An Advisory Committee, comprised of prior and current grant recipients, will help the Board identify possible changes in the MAP program rules.  The Advisory Committee will discuss the MAP rules on Thursday, September 8, during the Oregon Parks Association annual conference.  The conference is being held at the Sunriver Conference Center, 17600 Center Drive in Sunriver, Oregon.  The MAP program rules discussion is scheduled for 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm.  The public is invited to attend the Advisory Committee's discussion.  Comments from the public will be permitted following the Advisory Committee discussion.
               Based on the MAP Advisory Committee's recommendations, agency staff may develop proposed rule changes for the Marine Board to consider.  If the Board agrees with the recommendations, the proposed rules will go out for public comment.
