Boaters Urged to Avoid Willamette River near I-5 Construction in Eugene

               ODOT is reporting that the Willamette River flow at Eugene is leaving little if any headroom under the I-5 work bridge, creating extremely hazardous conditions to boaters who transit the area.
All boaters should use extreme caution operating on all Willamette Valley and Coastal rivers swollen from flooding, but because of the construction hazard where I-5 crosses the Willamette River at Eugene, this area should be avoided at all cost.
Boating during the recent flooding is strongly discouraged due to the strong current and large volume of debris which can easily damage props and jet intakes.  Make your personal safety a top priority.
