Marine Board Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Rule Changes for Applegate Reservoir

            On November 4, 2013, the Marine Board received a petition requesting that the Marine Board open rulemaking to eliminate the 10 mile per hour speed limit on the lake, prohibit motorboats in the Hart-Tish Park swim area, and create four slow-no wake zones on the lake.
            The Marine Board will be holding a public meeting where interested parties can learn about the petition and provide oral testimony or written comments on the petition proposal.  The meeting will be held on Monday, December 16 at the Medford Library, 205 South Central Avenue in Medford at 7 p.m.  No decisions will be made at the December 16 public meeting; the Marine Board will decide whether or not to open rulemaking at the January 9, 2014 board meeting in Portland.
