Marine Board Seeks Public Comments on Proposed Rulemaking in Jefferson County
The Oregon State Marine Board seeks written public comment on a proposed rulemaking for Boat Operations in Jefferson County, OAR 250-020-0161.
The agency is proposing to amend a rule to prevent long term mooring of boats on all lakes in Jefferson County and ensure boats are not left unattended while preserving unrestricted water access for all users. This rulemaking is in response to a petition submitted from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The Board approved opening rulemaking at its January 7, 2016, Board meeting. A Rules Advisory Committee was convened and met on March 31, 2016. The committee assisted in drafting the rule language and provided input on the fiscal impacts of the proposed rule.
Written comments may be submitted by May 31, 2016 by 5:30 pm and can be submitted via email to osmb.rulemaking at state.or.us or by U.S. mail to: June LeTarte, Administrative Rules Coordinator, 435 Commercial Street NE, Suite 400, P.O. Box 14145, Salem, OR 97309-5056. Comments via telephone will not be accepted.
