Marine Board Seeks Public Comment on Petition to Amend Safety Inspection Rule

The Oregon State Marine Board received a petition from a boater requesting that the Board open rulemaking to amend statewide rule, OAR 250-010-0053 Safety Inspections.

The petitioner sites excessive noise from boats with unmuffled internal combustion engines operating on the Willamette River between river miles 95-100 and seeks to open rulemaking to amend the statewide Safety Inspection rule to include required equipment as part of a safety inspection.

Written comments are being accepted until Tuesday, February 28, 2017 by 5 pm and can be submitted via email to osmb.rulemaking at oregon.gov<mailto:osmb.rulemaking at oregon.gov> or by U.S. mail to: June LeTarte, Administrative Rules Coordinator, 435 Commercial St. NE, Suite 400, P.O. Box 14145, Salem, OR 97309-5056.  Comments via telephone will not be accepted.
