Marine Board Holding Foam Encapsulation Hearing, Accepting Written Public Comment

The Oregon State Marine Board seeks written public comment to repeal rules in OAR 250-014 governing Foam Encapsulation and to adopt new rules in OAR 250-010-0700, statewide rules for Foam Encapsulation. The proposed rule changes will update the foam encapsulation standards and remove a requirement for the public and businesses to submit paperwork when installing foam flotation.

The Board will also be holding a public meeting to discuss the proposed rules on February 21, 2018 beginning at 12:30 pm at the Marine Board office, 435 Commercial Street NE, in Salem. The public is invited to attend to learn more about the proposed rules and to provide testimony on the draft language.

Written comments are being accepted through February 28, 2018 by 5 pm and can be submitted via email to osmb.rulemaking at oregon.gov<mailto:osmb.rulemaking at oregon.gov> or by U.S. mail to: June LeTarte, Administrative Rules Coordinator, 435 Commercial St. NE, Suite 400, Salem, OR 97301. Comments via telephone will not be accepted.
