OSPS E-News ~ OSPS Forum Date Change

The OSPS Forum  previously scheduled for May 19 has been changed to Friday
June 4 and the location has been changed to Conference Room 260 in the Labor
& Industries Building at 350 Winter Street NE.  The time remains the same;
9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.  

We apologize for this date and location change.  We have been working with
DAS Labor Relations in order to provide agencies with  information related
to the $350 workload adjustments payments.  There are variations on those
payment rules across the collective bargaining agreements, some allowing for
leave to be substituted for the cash payment or the cash to be deposited
into a health flex spending account.  The variations and permitted employee
choices make it impossible for OSPS to automate this process.  There will
also be manual calculations required to award the payment to part-time
workers.  For all of these reasons, we felt it was important to bring this
topic to the spring Forum and to include representatives from DAS Labor
Relations at the meeting.  That coordination and other schedule
considerations required that we make a date and location change for the
meeting.  

We will send reminders of this meeting as we get closer to the June 4 date.
