OSPS E-News ~ Planning Our Work For 2007-08

Hello Everyone,

 

It is time to ask for your input to help us plan our work for 2007-08.
But first, we would like to report the progress that we made during
06-07.  This topic was presented and discussed at the OSPS Payroll Forum
last week, but we want to include those who were unable to attend.  

 

Last year we asked you to help us identify the system or reporting
changes that would be most useful or helpful to you.  Then we had you
rank them in order of importance.  That became our plan for the
discretionary time of our programmer staff.  We were honest in saying
that we couldn't promise to complete everything - mandated work always
comes first.  But, we think you will agree that we completed a
significant number of very meaningful changes to both OSPA and to
several payroll management reports.  

 

As you consider what you would like us to work on for 2007-08, we
present the information below to verify the tasks completed and to give
you the opportunity to choose or vote for projects that were not
completed during this past year.  You may feel free to bring those forth
as suggestions for 07-08, or you may suggest new and different projects.

Comment field on P010 screen to log withholding related information such
as IRS lock-in letters.

Modifications in OSPA Complete

Modify 8055 exception report to provide an exception message for any
employee in the XX or CU benefit package who has active union dues or
fair share dues codes on the P070.

Reporting change implemented

Modify current P190 screen to provide an on-screen view of the gross to
net calculation for the current payroll period.

Modifications in OSPA Complete

Modify the P-020 work schedule calculation to 2 decimal places

Modify reports XREF 15 and XREF16 to print in alpha order rather than
PERS number.

Reporting change implemented

Standardize the display of the PTD2 and P070 screen so that the
insurance categories were in the same order.

Create new monthly report displaying LX used by each employee

Data mart query now available in the repository. 

Modify P-020 work schedule screen to capture and identify who has
updated transactions to that screen.

In process - will be completed in 30 days

Improve the display of records on the B470D & C reports to provide the
entire entry for each individual employee.

Provide that the 6055 time exception report can be printed in either
cost center or pay distribution code order.

Provide the option to receive more than one copy of the B030 - 020
timesheet forecast report.

Please e-mail your suggestions no later than May 31 to
ospshelp at das.state.or.us or to sharon.e.mckeehan at state.or.us. We will
assemble all of the suggestions and ask you rank them in order of
importance.  From that, we will develop our work plan for 2007-08 and
include these items in our annual business planning document.  Thank you
for your valuable input and assistance in our planning efforts.
