OSPS E-News ~ Changes to AccelaPay Gas Purchases

Announcements Announcements
Mon Jul 14 14:53:38 PDT 2008

For those of you who have employees with AccelaPay cards, I have
confirmed that the following information from U.S. Bank applies to the
AccelaPay cards:

"In light of the continuing increase in fuel prices, effective July 2,
2008, U.S. Bank will be implementing a new process in regards to
Pay-at-the Pump transactions where a cardholder purchases gas at a fuel
dispenser. Currently, the transaction authorizes and deducts a $1 from
the available balance and settles for the full purchase amount 2 to 3
days later. Beginning July 2, 2008, fuel dispenser transactions will
authorize for $50 and withhold that amount until the transaction posts
to the account. If the cardholder does not have a minimum of $50 on
their card, the transaction will be declined.

The cardholder can always complete the fuel purchase inside the
convenience store, where the transaction will authorize and settle for
the full purchase amount."

The July 2008 cardholder statements will include information about the
change.

Please let me know if this change creates issues for agency payroll
offices.
