OSPS has published a new Recommended Payroll Practice "Collective
Bargaining Agreements".  Here's a link:

This new recommended practice is intended to help payroll officers
familiarize themselves with bargained provisions,  clarify provisions
prior to their use, select the proper pay code to carry out the
provisions and ensure timely and accurate timesheet entry.  

 

This document has a section to clarify the partnership and roles of
OSPS, agency payroll and agency HR in terms of implementation and review
of new and ongoing collective bargaining agreements.  It also provides
links to useful resources and provides a helpful CBA evaluation form and
control sheet.  

 

We hope this new resource will be useful to you as the 2009 collective
bargaining agreements are settled and you begin the process of
implementation.  We expect that this will be especially helpful to those
payroll staff who are relatively new and are experiencing their first
contract implementation.
