PEBB is working directly with members to contact them and find out if the cancellation of the optional life coverage was an error. PEBB will communicate with agencies if a member has approved the optional life reinstatement. This approval will go retro to 1/1/13 and a premium adjustment will be required. Once we have a complete list of your members, we will forward you the list so you are aware of who was reinstated retro to 1/1/13 so the appropriate adjustments can be made. The members are aware that they will need to retro pay the premiums up to current status. If you have any questions pertaining to this audit, please let us know. OSPS is excited to sponsor an intensive half-day seminar that will focus on state and federal wage and hour regulations that most directly affect state agency payroll professionals. It will be taught by Joseph Tam, Program Coordinator, Technical Assistance for Employers, BOLI. Specific topics will include: * Overtime * Exempt and non-exempt employees * Final paychecks * Timekeeping and recordkeeping * Lawful deductions * Your wage and hour law questions! NOTE: Although this topic intersects the payroll process at a number of points, the focus of the class is on wage and hour laws and will not extend to taxation, garnishment and other reporting requirement issues. The class is March 18, 2013, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm in the Basement Conference Room A, Public Service Building, Salem. Recognizing budget constraints for sister agencies, BOLI has agreed to offer this class at the significantly reduced rate of $25.00 per person (pay with a credit card or ask us to invoice the agency). To take advantage of this great opportunity, register in iLearnOregon: http://go.usa.gov/4tMx PLEASE NOTE: With the amazing low cost, we need at least 30 staff members to register for the class for BOLI to recover their costs. If you want to ensure that the class goes forward, please register by March 5. If you have questions about the class or would like to submit a question for Joseph to address in class, please contact Katherine.Bremser at state.or.us I look forward to seeing you on March 18!
