The Cost Directive policy has been eliminated. The Cost Directive which was applicable to management, unclassified and unrepresented employees contained language about furloughs and closures among other cost-saving measures. Agencies may now revert to statewide human resource policy language, with the exception of the following: Special Merit pay increases for exceptional performance, outlined in State HR Policy 20.005.05 Merit Pay System, continue to be prohibited until further notice.

Thank you for diligently working together to help reduce the expenditures of the state. All employees had a hand in managing the budget crisis and should be commended for their personal sacrifice.

Early reports of furlough compliance have been great. We will provide more information in the near future.
