From osps-news at listsmart.osl.state.or.us Wed May 1 10:00:56 2013 From: osps-news at listsmart.osl.state.or.us (Announcements from OSPS to the users of the Oregon State Payroll Application) Date: Wed, 1 May 2013 17:00:56 +0000 Subject: OSPS E-News ~ April Worker's Benefit Fund - FLSA Exempt Message-ID: Happy May Pay Day, April was a big month for Worker's Benefit Fund. You may have noticed on today's paychecks that the WBF went up for full time employees about 32 cents above the April 1st assessment. Please see our other E-News from April 8th for more details about that. The other piece to the WBF change is for employees who are FLSA exempt and not eligible for overtime (or other compensation for additional hours worked). These employees are now calculated at a flat rate of 174 hours at 1.6 cents or $2.78 per month. This amount will not change unless an employee in this category has paid or unpaid leave time that drops their regular (RG*) hours below 87 hours in a month. In other words if an employee takes a week's vacation in one month their WBF assessment will still be $2.78. This change was implemented based on the following language under ORS 656 on how the WBF is to be assessed: "If no tracking system is available to track all actual hours worked, use the flat-rate calculation with no adjustment for overtime, leave, training, orientation, on-call or standby hours." This page is intended to address state employees who find the OSPS site during a web search or by following a web link, but are actually looking for their agency payroll office. This reference has up to three links: 1. Agency payroll website. This is most-often an internal page available only to agency employees. Some agencies have public pages. 2. Agency payroll GROUP email. This is an unchanging, static email address (as opposed to one that relies on someone's name), that reaches the agency payroll office. Our own OSPS Help email address is an example of this. 3. Directory Listing. This links to the statewide directory page as maintained by agency personnel. To present the most-thorough agency list possible, we took the existing "State Agencies A to Z" web page* and used that as the starting point to add known and solicited contact information. For agencies that don't use OSPA, we noted that on the page as well. PLEASE REVIEW your agency listing. If you'd like to add or modify any information that fits the above-listed criteria, please send your information this week to the OSPS Help desk via e-mail at mailto:OSPS.Help at das.state.or.us . We will link this page to our website the week of 5/27/13.
