________________________________
Due to the recent inclement weather, we have received many inquiries on how to code employees' time. On DAS CHRO's website you will find the Temporary Interruption of Employment (TIE<http://www.oregon.gov/DAS/CHRO/docs/advice/p6001501.pdf>) policy. Today we updated the scenario-based leave guide and will be removing the old version and replacing it with the attached tomorrow.

A scenario not specifically covered in the matrix is when the employee is approved to work from home or an alternate worksite (either for the inclement weather day or that is their primary duty station). All time the employee works from home is coded as regular work time ("RG"). Once the office closes, it is coded as miscellaneous paid leave ("MPL"). An employee needs to receive supervisory approval to continue to work after the office closes. Time approved to work after the office is closed is coded as regular paid time.

If you have specific questions, please contact your Labor Relations Unit<http://www.oregon.gov/DAS/CHRO/Pages/LRU.aspx#Staff_Listing> Representative or the Policy Unit<http://www.oregon.gov/DAS/CHRO/Pages/hrmc.aspx#Staff_Listing_>.
