[Announcements from OSPS to the users of the Oregon State Payroll Application]

Payroll and HR professionals,

We have discovered that during the retro COLA process, employees who received a leave accrual bump in August were mistakenly changed back to their prior leave accrual rate.  That means their leave accrual for August and September were at the incorrect rate.  For example if the employee had 10 VA hours accrue in August, it was reduced by 2 hours in September and their September VA accrual was only 8, shorting the employee 4 hours of VA.

OSPS and the Workday support team are working to correct the leave accrual rate.  The plan is for the Workday support team to fix it in Workday and send the correct leave accrual code over to OSPA.  OSPS will then set correctives for August and September to everyone Workday sends over to payroll.  This will correct the leave accrual amount for August and September when October leave accrual runs on the night of November 12.

Payroll offices; if you manually correct the employee's leave balances on the P435 screen to reflect the missing accrual amounts, please be sure to add the amount as a negative under the 'REMAIN ADV' column.   This will prevent the employee from receiving the corrected amount twice.  This entry is only needed if you are making the correction manually on the P435 screen.  Here is an example
