OSPS E-News ~ Follow up to sick leave accrual changes

[Announcements from OSPS to the users of the Oregon State Payroll Application]

Payroll professionals,

At yesterday's forum, we discussed changes to OSPA that will be implemented starting January 1, 2020 around sick leave and temporary sick leave accrual.  The question was asked regarding the calculation process, and I said I would follow up on when and how the system will accrue additional sick leave or temporary sick leave.

Attached are copies of the slides from the April 2016 forum when the change was first announced.  The slides include the calculation used for employees accruing additional sick leave or temporary sick leave in the month.

It was also asked at forum of OSPS would be sending out any type of communication about this change.  I did follow up with Seth; OSPS is not planning on sending out any communication to employees.  If your agency needs assistance with drafting communication we will be happy to assist.
