Greetings and Happy (almost) New Year!

We are in the processes of signing Letters of Agreements with all of the labor unions we work with to extend some of the benefits that had been provided by the federal government up until December 31st. 2020. These benefits will be extended through January 31st 2021 for all executive branch employees (represented, unrepresented, management, and executive service). These benefits specifically are:

Oregon Family Medical and Leave Act (OFLA) - Sick Child
Effective January 1, 2021 through January 31, 2021, an employee taking OFLA Sick Child leave for care for a child whose school or child care provider has been closed in conjunction with a statewide public health emergency declared by a public health official, shall receive paid leave for hours taken at their regular rate of pay. We will continue to use payroll code CXT for the paid hours.

Emergency Paid Sick Leave
Effective January 1, 2021 through January 31, 2021, full-time employees may be eligible to use 80 hours of emergency paid sick leave at their regular rate of pay. Part-time employees may be eligible to use the amount of leave equal to the number of hours the employee works on average over: a two-week period of emergency paid sick leave. Employees who used all or any part of the 80 Emergency Paid Sick Leave hours afforded by the Families Friday Coronavirus Response Act April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 are not eligible for an additional 80 hours of leave. However, employees may use any remaining hours. We will continue to use payroll code CV for the paid hours.

A new TIE policy leave matrix will be added and updated FAQ's will be added to the FAQ page regarding these changes.

Please see the attached LOA and Policy for details. If you have questions, please reach out to your Labor Relations Manager or CHRO Policy

Thank you!
