[Announcements from OSPS to the users of the Oregon State Payroll Application]

Hello Payroll Professionals,

As a reminder, if you know that your agency is trying to hire someone with a bonus, those off cycle check requests need to be sent to us by 10am on the 27th to make the payroll run for the 27th. Please inform your HR teams as you see fit.

Greetings -

As you are aware, the ability to pay a hiring bonus ends September 27, 2022. This means that by midnight on September 27, 2022 all of the following need to be completed:


  1.  All recruitments offering a hiring bonus must be closed.
  2.  All review of applications, interview processes and background checks must be completed.
  3.  The offer of a job must be accepted and the employee must have started work.
  4.  Full hiring bonus offered must be paid to the employee.

Payment of the hiring bonus after September 27, 2022 will be unlawful. Extra effort must be made to engage with hiring managers and payroll partners on recruitments in process to ensure all steps above are completed (there are currently 32 open recruitments offering the hiring bonus).
