OSPS E-News ~ W-4 Exemption expiration reminder

Announcements from OSPS to the users of the Oregon State Payroll Application osps-news at omls.oregon.gov

Good morning,

This is a reminder that Exempt W-4 forms expire. Please review this report in WD: PAY | Expiring Exempt Tax Elections. Run this for both Oregon and Federal. Agencies with out of state workers will need to run it for those states too.

Employees will need to update their W4 in Workday: go to the pay application [cid:image001.png at 01D93177.AC35DA60] , then Withholding Elections [cid:image002.png at 01D93177.AC35DA60]

By February 1, payroll offices will need to request a new Form W-4, Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate, from each employee who claimed exemption from income tax withholding last year.

On February 16, any Form W-4 entered claiming exemption from withholding has expired and if the employee does not have a new 2023 W-4 in Workday, DAS Workday Payroll will centrally default them to Single for Federal and Single and zero for State.

Best Regards,
