Good morning again,
Yesterday you received the e-mail below.
I'd like to thank the twenty of you who replied with your topic preferences. That leaves approximately 1800 of you to reply. I've attached a word doc with the topics listed for your reply. And remember to rate each topic.
Please let us know so Clark can get to work on his presentation.
I do understand some were unable to open the e-mail. I'm sending it in text format today and hopefully all of you will be able to read this.
A couple of announcements
IRS FSLG Specialist Job Openings
Cheryl Powers, the IRS Pacific Group Manager would like you to know she has a position open for a Federal, State and Local Government Specialist (FSLG) here in Oregon. And if you are willing to relocate there are more positions situated throughout the country.
As much as we appreciate Clark Fletcher, Washington's FSLG Specialist, who we've been sharing since Marilee's retirement last July it would be nice to have someone to call our own.
Please feel free to pass this information along to all you know who may be interested. You can find more detailed information at http://jobsearch.usajobs.opm.gov/jobsearch.asp?q=fslg&re=0&sort=rv&jbf574=TR93&FedEmp=N&vw=d&ss=0&brd=3876&FedPub=Y&tm=&rad=&zip=&x=38&y=7
And another perk.......you will continue to work with our office and more important will continue our relationship.
SEMINAR
Following with this theme......As the Oregon State Social Security Coordinator I'm pleased to announce I've been working with Clark on another seminar and need some input from you, the employer and interested parties. Registration will commence as soon as Clark gets a full green light.
Here are some basics.....
When -Tentatively set for June 4 & 5.....yes two days.....The plan is to have a day which would concentrate on issues concerning Accounts Payables and a day for Payroll Issues. Please see more information on the topics below and send me your preferences.
Where -GSA/BPA Auditorium in Portland near the Lloyd Center.
Why GSA/BPA Building-Facility is free and the auditorium holds 502. As we know, the IRS specialists time for training has been cut tremendously. Therefore this facility makes the most of their time. And for those of you traveling by air it's convenience is great as it's on the max line. A simple hop on the max at the airport and off almost at the front door.
Seminar basics.....as always, please pass this along to anyone connected with your employer that may benefit.
Cost-Free
CPE's-Yes
Parking is easy
Lunch -a great facility inside the facility
Security - Very secure....bring your Government Issued Photo ID (Drivers License)
Now it's your turn......if you've participated in the past you know there is a lot of information crammed into a short time.
A couple of topics definitely on the schedule will be
The new 3% withholding requirement for governments (Section 3402(t)) and
the new 941-x (replacement for the 941-c)
In addition, Tim Beard, SSA Region X Employer Liaison Services Officer (ESLO), will present updates on W-2 reporting, Social Security Number Verification Service (SSNVS)and Business Service Online (BSO)available to employers.
Now, because the taxable fringe benefits is such an expansive subject, please rate what the issues are most needed to be discussed?
