Dear Public Library Director:
As you may know, the State Library spends $5,000 a year in LSTA funds
to allow Oregon libraries to participate in programs and services from
BCR, Inc., a 12 state library cooperative headquartered in Colorado.

Earlier this year I alerted you to a price reduction on OCLC services
that BCR instituted on January 1st. The price reduction was intended
to make BCR's overall OCLC pricing lower than any competing network or
service center in the West.

If you haven't explored BCR's lower prices for OCLC services, I wanted
to call your attention to a new feature on BCR's website that enables
you to easily get an estimate of your potential savings:

http://www.bcr.org/publications/afl/2003/november/oclccosts.html

I hope you will use this new feature and talk to the staff at BCR to
get more information about savings opportunities. --> Jim
