Twice I've asked for a volunteer or two to convene the Oregon Public Library
directors quarterly meetings. I have had one director ask for additional
information, but that's been it. Certainly, we're all busy; nobody wants to
add one more project to one's plate. Perhaps it's time to forego these
meetings? I suspect it isn't, but Wyma and I have "done our time" and it's
time for us to hand the convening off to someone--or "someones"--else.
We've an idea or two that we could share--and State Librarian Jim Scheppke
has a number to add--so it's really not like having one's teeth pulled. If
you haven't served as a convener, would you please seriously consider it and
get back to me [Peter] or Wyma?
