The meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. and last until 4:00 p.m. The tentative agenda is first introductions and sharing and second planning for future meetings. Lunch will be catered. During lunch Michael Gaston will share his experiences working in Oregon libraries one more time. Michael will soon be retiring. After lunch there will be time to hear from the State Library, hear about L-Net, and Open Source ILS. Molly Raphael will then review the bringing diversity to library service and workplace and the significance of receiving Arthur Flemming Civil Rights Award. Please RSVP before October 1st so that plans can be made for a "network" breakfast and happy-hour/dinner. Remember, this is a non-competitive grant so all you have to do to receive this grant is apply. If your project doesn't meet the grant criteria I will work with you until it does so you will still receive your grant. Every library will be receiving at least $1,000 which can pay for a lot of storytime materials, board books, parenting books, summer reading performers, and giveaway books for children who complete the summer reading program. These are just a few of the many ways you can use your grant. If you have an idea for how you want to use your Ready to Read Grant, but you aren't sure meets the grant criteria just give me a call or send me an email!
