From greta.bergquist at state.or.us Mon Oct 28 16:43:07 2019 From: greta.bergquist at state.or.us (Greta Bergquist) Date: Mon, 28 Oct 2019 23:43:07 +0000 Subject: [R2R-OR] Ready to Read - Please Read for 2019 & 2020 Updates Message-ID: <031EE28E9341734C8BCB8E3D9012133425E8AD69@OSLEXCHANGE.osl.state.or.us.local> Hello Ready to Read library folks, I have a couple Ready to Read reminders and highlights to share: 2019 Ready to Read: 1) The 2019 Ready to Read report form, as well as all documents you may need to complete it, is available on the State Library Ready to Read webpage. Next year all applications and reporting will be in the online grants system. Thank you for your patience and flexibility with us as we transition! (Won't it be so great when it's all in one place?!?) The 2019 report is due December 1st. 2020 Ready to Read: 2) Your library's 2020 Ready to Read application has been accepted. The State Library Board approved the proposed grant amounts at their October 18th Board meeting. I have not yet finished making comments in the online grant portal for every library's 2020 application but will let you know when I do. 3) 2020 Grant funds will be distributed no later than December 31st. We will use the mailing address and payment method selected last year. Please let me know as soon as possible if your library location has moved and has a new mailing address. 4) A point of clarification: We are not asking for an additional signature page from your library, directors, or governing officials because we had the following language in the application: By clicking submit: * I affirm that the information contained in this application is true and correct and that my organization has authorized me to submit this application for Ready to Read grant funds. * I affirm that any partners listed above have committed to supporting the proposed project as described in the application. * I affirm that if this application were to result in my organization being awarded grant funds to carry out the project described in this application, we would comply with all state requirements for the administration of Ready to Read grants. Grant funds will supplement the library's budget from local sources to establish, develop, or improve public library early literacy services for young children and/or the statewide summer reading program. We are assuming all applicants submitted with authority to do so. We understand some libraries/library districts have additional protocols to follow when receiving money from outside their organization or city. Please follow your library/governing body's policies or protocols as required. Thank you for all the work you are doing for early literacy and summer reading at your libraries!
