Access Manager—Vancouver Community Library

Fort Vancouver Regional Libraries has an opening for a full-time access
manager at our Vancouver Community Library <http://www.fvrl.org/loc/va>.

The access manager works under the direction of the branch manager and in
partnership with the engagement manager to provide leadership for nearly 70
employees and manage operations in all areas of service at Vancouver
Community Library. These services include but are not limited to reference,
reader’s advisory, programming for all ages, circulation services, patron
accounts, collection management at the branch, and the physical maintenance
of the building. They are expected to participate in district initiatives
and the daily duties of the branch, attend regular district or committee
meetings, and build community relationships.

in providing coverage for the branch’s scheduling needs and will be
expected to flex their schedule, including working some evenings and
weekends.

Vancouver Community Library is a beautiful facility that was built in the
heart of downtown Vancouver, Washington in 2011 with five stories and over
83,000 square feet. Some of our favorite features include a computer lab,
one of the largest interactive early learning installations in the United
States, separate designated spaces for both teens and tweens, multiple
meeting spaces, quiet reading spaces, an independently operated coffee
shop, and an outdoor terrace.
Job Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have:

   - A master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) from an
   ALA accredited program or equivalent
   - Three to five years of related library work experience, with customer
   service experience in the library setting
   - One to three years of supervisory experience, with experience managing
   people and/or projects

An MLIS is strongly preferred, however, any combination of work experience,
education, and certification will be considered for special circumstances.

Compensation

The compensation for this position begins at $58,225 annually with an
excellent benefits package including health insurance, life insurance,
accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short term and long term
disability benefits, Washington State PERS retirement, and paid time off.
