Are you looking for a rewarding and meaningful work connecting people to books and reading? If so, look no further. A retirement is leaving us with a rare opening: a Reader Advisor at the Oregon Talking Book & Braille Library!

This position at the State Library of Oregon is part of the Talking Book and Braille Library<https://www.oregon.gov/library/print-disabilities/Pages/About-Us.aspx> (Talking Books) division. We're a dedicated and creative team and our everyday aim is improving accessibility to books -- and the World at large -- for our users.

As a Reader Advisor, you will carry out functions to ensure a smooth flow of services and support operations in Talking Books. Reader Advisors are the first and main point of contact with Talking Books users, and they communicate with patrons using phone calls, voicemail, and email. This position is responsible for the coordination of serials, equipment, and circulation within Talking Books. The entire collection is digitized, and users are serviced via USPS mail and online, making this a unique library environment.

P.S. I just noticed that we titled this Job Opportunity “Readers Advisor” instead of “Reader Advisor” – so maybe the first applicant who points that out will get points for attention to detail, yeah? 😊
