The Board of Trustees of the Central Skagit Library System is seeking a high-energy, collaborative leader to serve as its Library Director.



The beauty and diversity of this area with nearby lakes, rivers, mountains, and coastal beaches makes it a compelling location for active families and outdoor enthusiasts. Situated north of Seattle and south of Bellingham and Vancouver, BC, along the banks of the Skagit River, the highway access to these cities is an added benefit to residents seeking the tranquility of rural life as well as proximity to big city amenities.



The Central Skagit Library System is governed by a five-person Board of Trustees who are appointed by the Skagit Board of County Commissioners for five-year terms. The Board of Trustees is committed to the principles of intellectual freedom and equitable access for all residents of the library district. They take deep pride in the library, the beautiful new building and encourage cooperation with other county libraries through the development of a consortium of shared services.



The District will offer an attractive and competitive salary, negotiable from $96,000, and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. In addition, a robust benefits package will be offered.



Qualified candidates must have a Master’s in Library Science, or equivalent, from an  American Library Association (ALA)accredited institution.
