I.  Important Update:

 

Beginning with 2009 information returns, the Department of Revenue will
be requiring electronic filing of W2s. The filing due date will follow
federal filing deadlines (March 31, 2010 for 2009 W2s). The new
requirement will apply to businesses with 250 or more employees and all
payroll service providers. Electronic filing for smaller businesses will
be phased in over time. 

 

The department is interested in working with the business community to
gather input and develop standards. We are also interested in obtaining
employer input during the testing phase in 2009. If you would like to be
part of the development group, be a tester, or both, please contact

II. Coming Events 

 

15th Annual Oregon Small Business Fair 

Saturday, Sept 20, 2008

8:30 until 4:30 

Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Portland
Oregon .

 

This free event offers classes and seminars to assist new and
established businesses with everything from payroll taxes to internet
sales. There is a federal and state payroll tax presentation scheduled
for 3:30 that day. 
 

State, government and local business organizations will also have
information booths to provide additional information, advice, or to
simply answer questions.
