[RNandLPN] OSBN Nursing Practice Committee - Call for Members

The OSBN Nurse Practice Committee (NPC) is currently recruiting for nurses interested in volunteering to serve on the committee for a two-year term,  beginning June 1, 2012 through June 1, 2014.

Examples of the work produced by this committee can be found under "RN/LPN Practice Policies" on the OSBN website at www.oregon.gov/OSBN<http://www.oregon.gov/OSBN>.

The current goals of the NPC are:


1.      Reviewing/revising current Board policies, position statements and administrative rules.

2.      Responding, as directed by the Board, to the changing healthcare environment by addressing scope of practice issues, and developing policies and position statements related to those issues.

3.      Discussing and deliberating scope of practice issues when requested, and making recommendations to the Board regarding specific issues.


Nurses who are selected to serve on the NPC will be forwarded to the Board for appointment.

The term for the new members would begin June 2012.  The remaining 2012 NPC meeting dates are:

               June 1, 2012
               September 13, 2012
               November 5, 2012
