Request for Licensed Practical Nurse to Join OSBN Nursing Practice Committee

The Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) is seeking a LPN to join the Nursing Practice Committee.  This committee has been formed to respond to issues regarding RN/LPN scopes of practice.  Membership includes 15 appointed Committee members, one to two Board members and one to two members of the Board's staff.

Committee membership is geographically diverse and represents a variety of healthcare and practice settings.  Committee members generally serve a two year term.  The person selected for the LPN position will complete a two year term through August 2014.  Meetings are held five times each year.

Committee goals include the following:
1.     Review/revise current Board policies, position statements and administrative rules as directed and with the schedule set by the Board/Board staff.
2.     Respond, as directed by the Board, to the changing healthcare environment by addressing scope of practice issues and developing policies and position statements as needed.
3.     Discuss and deliberate scope of practice issues when requested including issues formally submitted on the Request for OSBN Issue Review form and make recommendations to the Board regarding specific these issues.
